Another year of surviving - though this one was a bit more interesting than most. And twenty years a Turk, now. I suppose that should be a terrifying thought, but it's more a way of life than a job.

I hope it was at least a little enjoyable. It got a bit rowdy toward the end there.

It was - and we Turks are notorious for our parties, so it's not unexpected.

Oh good, I'm so glad. I was a little worried that it might have gotten a bit loud. It was a great deal of fun, though! You know, it took some creative researching techniques to find out some of your favorite desserts. I tried to secret some away in non-descript containers in the fridge, so there may yet be some left tomorrow.

The thought is very much appreciated. Hopefully Reno will be wise enough to keep his hands off it. They were delicious, by the way.

I think I warned him about that? I'm not sure. Things got a little fuzzy past a certain point. Wherever did he find such good liquor? I'll have to ask him later.

Have you decided where you'll hang the chime?

Trust me - with Reno, you don't actually want to know. I think I may buy a support for it and hang it outside the window - the sound is quite beautiful.

I meant to ask you and then forgot - when is your birthday? I'll have to return the favor.

Oh, really? ...You don't think he stole it, do you?
Oh, mine? It's really not that important. I haven't had a celebration in years. I just visited my mother, usually.

I don't think he stole it, but...just trust me on this one.

And it's not like my birthday is any more important. I'd like to get you something, at least.

Date: 2009-11-11 06:34 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] librariansheart.livejournal.com
When do I not? As you say.

Ah hah, well maybe it's not important to you, but it is important to other people. It's really not necessary, I promise.

Date: 2009-11-11 06:37 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] citydragon.livejournal.com
And your birthday is important to me - is there a reason you won't tell me?

Date: 2009-11-11 06:41 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] librariansheart.livejournal.com
Er, no, not... I just don't want to inconvenience you, I suppose. Besides, it's a touch late, and I really don't mind.

It's not an inconvenience, Sheska. And better late than never, I suppose?

Date: 2009-11-11 07:12 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] librariansheart.livejournal.com
Well... It, ah... It turns out we have the same birthday, actually.

Why didn't you say something?!

We'll have to have a belated birthday party for you, then.

Date: 2009-11-11 07:23 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] librariansheart.livejournal.com
W-well, I didn't really think about it? I-I mean, I was so excited about celebrating for you, and finding the chimes, and I don't really celebrate my own birthday... I just sort of forgot after a certain point.

That's really not... There already was a party! I don't need one - I enjoyed myself very much!

Date: 2009-11-11 08:56 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] citydragon.livejournal.com
Dinner, at least, then? If you're going to make a big thing out of my birthday, it's only fair I do the same.

I didn't
It wasn't

I'd be happy to. I'm not certain what would be appropriate. I haven't done this before.

Date: 2009-11-11 09:38 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] citydragon.livejournal.com
You've never celebrated your birthday?

Well, what kind of food would you like? I'll pick a place and we can go, say, Friday night? Someone a little calmer than my party.

Date: 2009-11-11 09:55 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] librariansheart.livejournal.com
Well, not since I was very young. I haven't really had a reason to. If I was working, I took the day off to relax, but I didn't usually have the money to go out. And when I was a child we lived in the country, so Mother would cook my favorite meal for supper and we'd have a special dessert, but that was a long time ago.

To be honest, I hadn't really thought about it... Someone on the bus the other day suggested a category called "Greek"? I'm not certain what all it entails. I haven't had a chance for research on the topic. Have you heard of it before?

Friday will work quite nicely, thank you. Just let me know the dress code in advance?

Date: 2009-11-11 10:15 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] citydragon.livejournal.com
Well, we'll do something this time. I'm not familiar with Greek food, but I'll look into it.

Date: 2009-11-11 10:21 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] librariansheart.livejournal.com
It'll be an experiment, then! If you find some place you're a little more certain of, I certainly won't mind.
