[Tseng isn't actually shouting, but his voice is raised, clearly angry. There's an edge of shakiness to underneath, though]

Rufus? Rufus, where the fuck are you? You were supposed to be standing watch, goddamnit!

Fuck not another-

[There's a muffled clatter as he drops the cellphone onto the grass, followed by a gunshots and an inhumane scream. There's a long silence before Tseng speaks again, and he sounds a lot calmer when he does]

If anyone runs into Rufus, let him know to get in contact with me ASAP. There wasn't any sign of struggle here, so...

Reno, Elena? What you do with your time is your own, but could leave a note if you're both going out? I'd like to be able to keep track of everyone right now, with everything that's been happening.

And I think my phone needs repair, I've never had problems with feedback static on it before...

How many miracles should one recieve before you start wondering what the catch is? I do not deserve this gift the world has given me...

I know you do not wish to see me, right now, but...I have a favor to ask of you. The temple taught you the purification rituals, yes? I know the media has said whatever that violence was, it is gone now, but I am not so trusting of what those in charge tell me, any more.

Curiouser and curiouser - this city is just full of surprises. This one is somewhat more familiar than last week's little invasion - though these seem a bit vicious, even for onryo...
practicality: (cold-hearted bastard)
Alright, so does anyone know what the hell is actually going on? Things are quiet here so far, but I have no illusions that it'll last, and the news reports are frustratingly vague.

Make-up: how do you get good at it? Just practice? Or is there some sort of great secret I should know? Because I like to think my sewing skills are pretty good, but my inability to style hair or apply make-up makes most of the photos look varying amounts of 'average' to 'fail'.

Is there anyone still in need of shelter from those creatures? We have space, here, and the wards are holding, thank Yevon.

I wonder how much longer the attack will last...
practicality: (Default)
I don't like the sense I got off those shadow creatures - I thought I was seeing things, but Auron caught sight of them too. They seem to be very persistent, although I've finally worked up wards strong enough to keep them out of the apartment - hopefully I can keep them up.

Sheska-san, Yoite-san, Minato-san, Aeris-san, Yuna - are you all alright? If you'd rather not be alone with those things around, I have a kettle of tea on the stove - though you may want to bring a blanket, we don't have many extras and the heating in here is not very good.
practicality: (Default)
Hmm~ That was a bit... unusual.

I think the Cards and I may go have a little peek. Pity my Guardians aren't here - they're very reliable when things get messy.

WTB reliable Rufus RPer. I know posting here won't get me one, I just feel like whining XD

What is with all the crappy FF7 werewolf AUs. I have seen at least three (by different people!). I blame Twilight for this one.

For my Dystopian Lit term paper - elements of transhumanism and definitions of humanity in dystopian literature (focusing on Neuromancer and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep), or antiheroes, sociopaths, and their role in dystopian societies (focusing on Neuromancer, Watchmen, and A Clockwork Orange)? Am actually somewhat curious for others' thoughts on this, although I have a month to pick still

Related to the above, get to write a paper on parallels between A Handmaid's Tale and Children of Men, which means rewatching the latter this weekend and probably throwing popcorn at the tv.

Still have a cold ugh.

This house has far, far too many stairs.

My apologies for not informing you ahead of time of the change in instructors - however, I trust you will all treat Elena with the same respect you would show me. It'll be a few more weeks before I'm back - though I may stop in next week to check up on things.

Oh, and for those who expressed interest in hand-to-hand training - I'm afraid that's on hold for probably the next month and a half at least.

Hm. Fall reminds me of Bevelle - leaves falling in the temple gardens. It was always so beautiful...

A little chilly for my tastes, though. Time to go coat shopping I suppose.

So sometime in my 'let's play good idea, bad idea' zone of three am this morning, I decided that Braska's teeny apartment in Desai needed a floor plan so I could figure out where everything went, and because I am an overachiever sometimes, I decided to build it in SketchUp and make it fully 3D. So...I did. And I love it. I started working on the huge house the Turks live in, but it is three stories and five bedrooms and has a fireplace and bay windows and fancy stuff, so it'll probably be a little longer to build. Anyway! Endearingly ugly little apartment behind the cut.

Fall~

I have done so much writing this week, pretty much all of it incredibly self-indulgent. And you know what? I don't care. I am having an awesome time RPing and having Tseng discuss cats with Vash and get into fights with Reno and be fluffy with Sheska and Aeris, and writing Rufus genderswap, and Braska having break-downs, and all that jazz. It just feels good to be doing something fun and creative again.

Also, fall is finally actually here, which means I got to break out my favorite coat ever (yes, it is leather, no, I still can't believe I bought it for $75 either) for the cool weather. Unfortunately aforementioned weather has also brought with it the first cold of the season, which is annoying but bearable for the moment. Hopefully it will not morph into ZOMGdeath flu!!1! or something.

Fuck, I really hate this place sometimes. Particularly all the timeskips and alternate realities that keeep popping up.

From the Desai kink meme, because seriously, this is the best game ever. So, two bits I threw together yesterday, both gen, presented for the amusement of my flist as a whole.

-'Spock+Wobuffet fluff.' (brief background - Japan was handing out Pokemon at one point. Spock got a Wobbuffet)

-'Aeris+anyone. Crossdressing. We all know she has the skills.' (Yeah, Desai brings people back from the dead sometimes)

Fucking hell. Ten years...I thought I had finally succeeded, destroyed that old life. I suppose...we trained them too well. And to send Reno - for all his attitude, he's good, and cities are his element. They're serious.

Some old friends I'd rather not deal with have showed up. I think I may skip town for a few days until things cool down. If anyone new comes asking around about me - I don't exist, alright?

Which I realize I talk about a lot, but nobody cares about twenty-page-long microarray overview papers giving me headaches (mostly because the authors assume more of a data analysis background than I have). So, in no particular order-

-I am a huge nerd and contemplating trying to plot out functional mechanics for magic/mako and Geostigma ('science' and 'Final Fantasy' = two things that should probably not be in the same sentence)
-I bought a Crisis Core wallscroll today! This art, no idea where I'm going to hang it as I have CLAMP and FFX posters that still need hanging too
-Fangirl Freudian slip of the evening - substituting 'Wall Market' for 'Night Market'. I actually caught myself after the first word but was in a car of other fanpersons who called me on it. In my defense, the Night Market is like the Wall Market, only with more Chinese bootlegs and less places to sit.

In non-FF7 news, the marshmallows were (and are) absolutely delicious, I went into T&T to buy dried mushrooms and BBQ sauce and came out with two bags of groceries and eight kilos of rice, and I am seriously contemplating Kanji. Nevermind that I do not have a crazy widow's peak and have lots of cosplay projects already. But he's so full of win, and I've made that style of uniform before (teen!Seishirou, which never got worn and is now too small). Bonus points would be convincing Rosie to dress as Naoto, because she's got the right build and looks for it, and would be all over getting to wear a boy's uniform and a kickass hat.

This...is a strangely lucid dream. It must be our proximity to Zanarkand - to be near one machina city and dream of another. Unfortunately the lucidity detracts from my enjoyment - I know exactly what I must do in the coming days.

...Just as well that I cannot hide in dreams, I suppose

So, tonight in 'food I just learned you can make at home': marshmallows! We used Alton Brown's recipe, and they turned out pretty tasty - although the real test will be tomorrow when I am not oversaturated with sugar already. It's a little messy, mostly in the transferring from mixing bowl to pan step, and I cut the mixing time a little short because my poor stand mixer was starting to strain itself. The phrase 'Old World charm' may have been thrown around a bit as we tried to wrestle the stuff into the pan (as well as 'facial', later - attempting to lick up the remains of sticky white goo leads to some amusing images).

Also, I think I may be starting to lose it. I spent a good fifteen minutes freaking out because I couldn't find the second replacement front panel for Rufus's long vest thing, so I'm freaking out, and going through all the pieces, and then put what I have finished on so I don't lose it...and then discovered I had already attached it. And I totally don't remember doing it. At least I didn't lose the pieces, I guess?

And my new keyboard unit for my laptop finally showed up yaaaay. No more hideous neon USB keyboard for me!
