Posting this here, as I don't want to actually get involved in the wankfest, but aaaaargh must say something somewhere *froth* Basically, WoWInsider posted a short interview with a GBLT-positive guild on US-Proudmoore. There were a surprisingly large number of positive comments, but of course the inevitable internet wankfest occured (complete with Godwin!), and in among the back and forth, there was a special little comment that got looked over in the general melee, and made me seethe with rage.

“On gender, think of all the women who play WoW and refuse to talk on Vent in fear that they'll be hit on or people will freak out.”

Then theres a good chance that they have a weak character (Not speaking of their in game characters). I know plenty of women who play WoW (Including the one who first got me playing), and none will be so weak as to not speak out of fear.

Wait wait wait, so I'm 'weak-willed' because I don't want to have some stupid fifteen-year-old try out his crappy pick-up lines, which can only end in me saying 'STFU, I have a boyfriend already; and if I ever find out where you live I will come and personally kick you in the gonads to ensure your stupid does not spread', every time I try to do a pick-up group for something? I play WoW to relax and have fun, not to be an activist - it's not my job to teach idiots I don't know on the internet how to be mature and respectful.



....There, that feels a little better now. I almost want to go roll and alt on Proudmoore, because that guild sounds full of win and awesome, but I have too many alts, and I don't think I could leave my awesome DotA gals ♥
