So, as per my last post, I downloaded and watched the first two episodes of Naruto Shippuuden. And then the third. And the fourth. And you can all see where this is going. I've got all ten downloaded, but only watched through seven, because it's four am and I swore I'd get to sleep before the sun came up. But this series is like crack. It's not mind-blowingly amazing writing or anything, but it's fun. Bright and colorful, and so far, a good mix of silly and serious. A total surprise favorite so far is Gaara. I previously have had this massive, somewhat irrational dislike for Gaara - bad associations, really. But now, actually watching some of the show, I have to grudgingly admit that he's pretty awesome. I'm not sure if I'd feel the same way about young!Gaara (who it seems it would not be inaccurate to describe as small and angry), but matureleader!Gaara? Win. Also, all the scenes in the village of sand made me think of the hour and a half of Dune I actually watched. Seriously, expecting glowy eyes and 'fear is the mindkiller' here. I also suspect I'll wind up liking Sasuke - I've got a soft spot for the token deeply fucked up angst-muffins (Subaru, Ianto, anyone?).

Yeah, you can all start mocking me now. Go ahead. I deserve it XD; Also, yes. I totally get into everything like two years too late. Everything.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Actually, I've never seen any part of the series so I can't really say anything, but I'm still on the "trying to stay as far away as possible" minus the music boat.

What? You mean you didn't finish all 3-4 hours of Dune? xD j/k. And was it the old one, or the new one?

I totally get into everything like two years too late. Amen to that!

I did one better, and avoided both Naruto _and_ Bleach, which is the new big thing that everyone is into.

I don't know. It was the six hour-long one on the sci-fi channel.

...I knew I was going to do that eventually XD;

Was that yer RP thing? xD

Okay, then I'm guilty of bleach overload, so we're even. (I obviously couldn't avoid it xD) :D Have you been in to other animes lately? Sometimes good ones are hard to come by. Sometimes....I need to be exposed to more anime.

Either way, that movie is bizarre and looooooooooonnnngggggggggggg.

Yeah, was one of my RP journals XD;

I watched Elfen Lied recently, which is actually older, although very good (also reeeeally fucked up), and the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, which is strange, but kind of endearing. Both are pretty short, though - fourteen eps.

Yeah >.> But it's also a sci-fi classic, so I feel like I should at least try to read/watch it all the way through at least once.

Ooh, thanks for the recs.

And if on the off chance you do decide to sit through Dune, I think the older one by David Lynch > the new one. Plus young Sting is in it....don't know if you know who that is or care about his music, but it tickles me pink. xD

I do actually vaguely know who Sting is XD; Apparently what I've seen part of is the new one - I may end up giving the old one a look, though ^^
