Guess who just figured out how to 1) install Japanese fonts and 2) force Photoshop into accepting foreign characters? Oh yeah. Three months too late for what I originally wanted it for, but handy none the less!

I'm fairly certain there are more useful things I could be spending my evening on, but eh. And if Yana decides to finally show up at like quarter 'til midnight, I'm going to kill her, because I've been waiting around for her for the last hour and a half, and plan on actually going to bed at a reasonable time tonight.

And I'm going to kill Guy Upstairs (whichever one it is, may as well kill all of them for good measure), because I've been back a week and the noise is already getting to me. Three more months.

Glad you like ♥ Some day I'll do a whole Turks set, but this was a good start ^^

Is it a simple trick to get those characters into Photoshop? I know I've got at least four or five fonts that are Windows standard and which have Shift-JIS character sets, but I seem to remember I couldn't get it to select Shift-JIS in the Photoshop type settings...

Hmm. I installed some TrueType fonts I was using for this particular project (prettier!), and I discovered that while Photoshop has no way to input characters - in this case, kanji - directly, if I selected one of the Japanese fonts, I could copy and paste the characters in from another document - Notepad can handle Japanese input if you've got the language packs installed in XP.

I can display Shift-JIS in Notepad, but it doesn't paste into Photoshop correctly. If I take a serious look at the problem again I'll try to figure out a PostScript solution, or maybe whatever the NEW-new font format is.

Hm. Maybe it was the additional installed fonts that did it for me?
