Boston (Well, Sort of)

My dad and I went into Cambridge today to so some shopping and have lunch. My big quest was to get a new Tatsumi suit at Keezer's, but that ended up not happening. We did, however, find an vintage bomber jacket that fit me perfectly, but was unfortunately way too beat up for the price they were asking. Remembering that I sort of needed one for Leon, we set off on a bit of a quest through the various thrift stores. No success on the jacket, but the Garment District had a bunch of the navy blue tactical pants I needed, for $20 less than the cheapest online place, so I bought the smallest pair they had, which is maybe a touch too big (as in I'm right on the border between small and medium, and these are mediums).

My inner perfectionist is screaming that it'll look terrible and everybody will be able to notice, etc, but the more rational part of me points out that twenty bucks is twenty bucks, it's not that obvious, and if I really feel like I should, I can take them in along the inside of the leg an inch or two. Cosplayers: taking perfectionism to a whole new level.

Not enough of them, yo.

...I'm actually inclined to agree, although how neurotic I get is a little bit crazy. After an hour's worth of deliberation, I've realized these pants _are_ too big, and I may be out $16, because I suck.

Cosplayers do take perfectionism to a whole new level. You espeically so, but you look awesome in the end. ^_^

Thanks - good to know there's _some_ benefit to the slow, steady loss of my sanity XD;

XDDDDDD

i must confess i have done that on several accounts

Well, at the moment, I'm saved from it by RR having non-friends commenting turned off, and I don't have any of my non-RR character journals in the comm, for obvious reasons. I keep logging in as Tseng instead of Asher, though.

oooo that's a convenient tactic :O and...having multiple jouunrals tends to be the problem. X3

"Cosplayers: taking perfectionism to a whole new level."

Hahaha....this turns into me. I start out with a costume idear then go....ehhhhhh I think it needs more. Then comes the adding and adding onto that costume so much so that I cry when I see how much I've spent in total (unless I can bargain prices). But even then. Ouchie. xD

Sports shops have good clothes for RE cosplayers, although they can be horribly expensive so poop.

Yeah, I'm totally using the power of Ebay and surplus places to get around the expense of Leon. And not doing the jacket, at least right off. He doesn't have it for more than three-quarters of the game anyway, and I am poor.

Leon needs to not be so expensive XD; *pokes him*

My one bit of consolation is that Ada's tactical gear would have been a lot worse, because there's so much leather XD;

[identity profile] ext_223426 (from dreamwidth.org) 2007-01-06 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Hm... True enough. That makes the two of them rivals for "most expensive clothing" or some such stuff. ^^;

Yeah - Ada's red butterfly dress, though, is largely a pretty cheap outfit. I've spent maybe $25 so far, and half of that was on the shoes. The holster and gun will be pricey when I do them, though.

Really? Hmm... I'll have to look into where I can get an outfit vaguely resembling hers, then (will modify). So far, no luck at Ross ;_;
