It says something about my inability to learn languages that I looked back at my notes from the last time I took Japanese, about a year and a half ago, and I have no idea what half the stuff I wrote means any more. Damnit, languages, why must you mock me D:?

I did make a minor break-through on the crab-thing, though, in finally managing to identify that they're poikilotherms. Found one article that might be helpful, except that while the library webpage claims we have an online subscription to the journal it was in, we apparently don't, because it keeps asking me for login info. If someone else has access and would like to e-mail me the PDF, I'd be eternally grateful - link is here.

EDIT: Skuld sent me a copy - thanks ♥

The great thing about going to a UC school is that we have access to everything under the sun because we're just so huge and giant. :D There's some obscure Japanese women's studies journal we have that has several articles written on BL/yaoi and stuff, and I was so thankful to get access to it. XD *such a nerd*

Anyways, the e-mail is off, I hope it's helpful to you.

We have access to a pretty decent amount, but while the library website claims I have access to this, I don't, apparently - although it might be some network issues, because it's happened with another article I tried to look at earlier, and the wireless, at least, has been on crack all day.

:/ Hey, if it makes ya feel better, I took three years of college Japanese during high school (they didn't have the language there), and of those three years, I remember the most from first year. Never, ever go to a class like that with a friend who's on crack half the time. It doesn't teach ya squat XD; But then, hey, there are some people who're good with languages, and those who're not. I'm sure if I really worked at it, I'd fall into the "Ok" category :D

Good luck with the crabs! (That site sounds nifty, but I don't have a subscription to it.)
