(no subject)

Is the name 'Renée' familiar to anyone else? I saw it in some of the graffiti, and I feel like I should know it - but I can't remember.

Samehada-san, we should spar again sometime soon.

[OOC: As this is ~meta~ Souji is going to be dodgy about it on the journals, but I'm happy to use this for quicklogs!]

[There really was a marshmallow pie recipe, but if there weren't, she could just ask for chocolate chip, nougat, M&Ms, succade, dried fruits or anything. The harder part was assessing his trustworthiness. He had been vocally against the Sphere before, but allegiances could change.]

Oh, the fancy shapes are really cute! In fact, you have lots of cute-looking sweets. Working here must be fun.

It is, usually. And I get to try lots of things, so I don't mind it.

["Casually", while inspecting a jelly-filled marshmallow]

I see. So, did you pick this job because it's something familiar, or...?

[He shakes his head]

No, I just like candy. Before... I was a warrior. A law-keeper. [There's a certain hint of wistfulness there]

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-05 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. Ever thought of joining the Watch?

[Taking a wrapper now. It seems she's made a choice.]

[identity profile] coughcoughshank.livejournal.com 2011-06-10 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I applied, actually - Stoneface-san said it wouldn't be a good fit, though.

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Really? Why? [And soon added:]...Um, you don't have to answer if you don't want to. That was impolite of me.

[identity profile] coughcoughshank.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
[He smiles cheerfully]

No, it's fine! My fighting style wouldn't mesh well, so I understand why he declined.

[The Watch isn't into 'kill first, ask questions later'. Who'd have though >_>]

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[His smiles made him less easy to read, she thought.]

I see, that's too bad. But I'm sure there are still many ways to contribute to the Edensphere society.

[identity profile] coughcoughshank.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm, I guess. Though it's hard to do things with the Tree always messing around with us.

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-12 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
We get used to it, somehow. I have even heard some not wanting any other life than the life we have here.

[identity profile] coughcoughshank.livejournal.com 2011-06-12 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
[He shrugs lightly]

They can keep it, then, I suppose. As for me... I hate this place.

[He's still smiling, but there's a hint of bitterness underneath the cheerful voice.]

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[She turned to face him, looking scandalised.]

D-Don't say something like that! Don't you know the Tree has ears everywhere?

[identity profile] coughcoughshank.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[He shrugs lightly]

It hasn't bothered to stop me yet.

[And he's still smiling, but there's a look in his eyes that says 'bring it on.']

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[Not the type to even mask dissent, was he? It was the moment of truth. If he was a lying crony of their enemy, whoever they were, she would be compromised. If he wasn't, she might gain information or ally. Stellaris walked towards him, the wrapper full of fancy-shaped marshmallow in hand.]

It could, though. Everyone says that.

[Then, onto the counter she took out the letter-shaped marshmallows, one by one spelling R, E, N, E, E.]

I'll take these, but I forgot my purse in the Scavenger's Yard. I could pay you back tomorrow, but you'll get more if you come pick it up there.

[He glances down at the marshmellows, and then glances back up to catch her eye. He understands]

Are you going down there now, or should I meet you there later?

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Around 5 o'clock would be lovely.

[Even resistance group members need to finish work shifts first.]

[identity profile] coughcoughshank.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll meet you there, then~

[Time for some timeskip?]

timeskipped! Lyle cameo with Kris' permission

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[At the specified time, Stellaris waited alone—Or that was how she looked to those who couldn't see the hidden sniper a few hundred feets away.]

[identity profile] coughcoughshank.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[Souji comes alone - though the sword at his side is clear enough. When he spots Stellaris, he gives her a cheerful wave.]

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[She waves back.]

Thank you for coming.

[identity profile] coughcoughshank.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[He gives her a small bow]

And thank you for coming as well.

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[The bow was reciprocated. She reached into her pocket for some coins and offered them to him as he closed in.]

Here you go.

[identity profile] coughcoughshank.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[He takes them, and pulls out his own coin purse from his kimono and tucks them away]

Thank you - though I'm guessing you didn't want to meet here just for that.

[identity profile] lingeringlegacy.livejournal.com 2011-06-13 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[She smiled still, but now less jovial, more knowing.]

Pardon me for being roundabout. This level is known to be the safest for the type of conversation I'd like to have with you.
