practicality: (Leon Kennedy // Lone Wolf)
The overwhelming question niggling at the back of my head for the last couple of weeks is whether or not to try and dye my hair to some consistant shade. As some might remember, I had it bleached last year - I dyed over the bleaching back in the spring, as my roots were growing in and it looked bad, but my hair never takes dye well, so it's faded out a lot (even black fades on my hair sometimes, it's terrible). You can now see three different layers of color in my hair - my roots, the half-assed secondary bleach job (my hair doesn't bleach well, either), and the much better pro bleach job.

Now, to me, the layers are really really obvious, but, well, it's my hair, so I look at it a lot more closely than everybody else does. So, I leave it up to you, dear readers! This is my hair right now:

No flash, so any color variations you see there aren't the light. And ignore the apparent cut-weirdness, it's not actually there - I let it dry pulled back and then untucked it quickly for the photo so it went a little wacky.

Look good, or no? Dying it is not a huge impact on my time or budget, I'm just a lazy bastard. And I'm trying not to fry my hair any more. Oh, and this is for Tatsumi and Leon, BTW.

I can see three distinct color layers, but only because you mentioned them and I was looking. Otherwise, I think I'd just notice that you're somewhat darker on top. I think it looks fine as is; the middle layer probably actually helps the progression seem less drastic. I'd only bother dying it if you actively want it to be a different color, not for concerns of uniformity.

Yeah, if there was no middle layer it'd look _really_ drastic. I guess it's one of those things that I just notice because it's my hair and I see it so often, and know it's been dyed, though XD;

My hair IS lighter than yours now, actually.

You might be a little on the light side for Leon, then XD; My tips are probably about right, although a lot more gold.

And my outfit is going to be on the dark side, so it'll just look gorgeous ;3.

It just looks blonde to me. Then again, I'm color-retarded. As non-commital as it sounds, I think you would look good with either, from what I have seen of you. I guess it depends on your mood.

I've been considering cutting my hair off and dying it.

Actually I think your hair looks great as is: dyed, yes, but not horribly artificially so & it's all nice warm colours. I'd vote that you don't change it until you have something urgent you really want to do to it.

I second this.
