Dear Self,
Just because some of your friends are not the most overtly friendly, welcoming, affectionate people does not mean they secretly hate you or like all their other friends more than you. Some people are just not very outwardly affectionate. They would in fact tell you if they didn't like you. Deal with it, live with it, because this is the source of many of your problems lately.

And now for everybody else - a meme! I didn't post the first version of this that went around last year, so I feel like I should this time. Answers to number six will probably be kind of sad, though, because I am lame and can never remember interesting animals.

4. You make beautiful layouts, and if I recall (see, this is how long it's been since we've interacted), do great photoshoot poses, which I've never been any good at.
5. Strangely, when I think of you, I think of this really awesome blog you had way back in the day. Like...2002 (and now I really hope it was you and Nicole that had it), with Subaru's gloves, and a package of cigarettes and the pentagram, and I loved it.

7. Do you actually like me? You always seemed kinda unfriendly, which is why I gave up trying to talk to you on AIM. But as per the rest of the post, I'm starting to realize that not everybody who seems unfriendly actually is.

I don't really fandom over any particular thing anymore -- although I do find a trend in my costumes (which can be found on my journal in a recent post). I still like doing icons and layouts, although my current layout is non-existant because I want to do a cosplay layout soon -- so my profile is as close as it gets.
I think CLAMP killed us all. I don't even read XXXHolic or Tsubasa, although I know Subaru just came in.. I'm like... .... mehhhh~~~

CLAMP really did. Everybody else squealing over the X character apperances made me realise how much I just don't care any more. Going to bring something Seishirou to Y-con, because dude, Y-con, but after that, I think it'll only be if someone else asks me to for a group or something.

To answer the question: since I got involved with online fandoms, I've got addicted to random airmailing. It's just fun to send random stuff to people, especially if you don't have contact with them IRL. Back in X fandom days when I was on the Sakura Board, it used to be a lot of in-jokey stuff (eg. fake eyeball from the joke shop XD). So don't feel guilty, it's more of an "impluse" thing than an "exchange" thing. :P

7. I do like yaoi. Or, well, actually I'm very much an equal opportunity person: I'm open to most ships, het or yaoi, as long as it doesn't squick me. Animals are no-nos. Incest, I'm negotiable on - I have a few guilty loves (cough, Harry Potter!Blackcest), but things like Laguna/Squall will just have me FLEEING FOR THE HILLS as soon as possible. *cries*
And no matter if it's het or yaoi, some reasoning behind the ship is, y'know, appreciated. :> I'm so tired of the yaoi fangirls bashing down every other ship because it messes with their boylovin'. Augh the Kingdom Hearts fandom.
Although men are very pretty together, yaoi for me doesn't immediately constitute greatness - people going "AWWMYGAWSH they're two boys kissing awmygash it's FANTASTIC it's WONDERFUL let's squee wildly and uncontrollably because it must be brilliant!" will freak me out almost as much as homophobes will.
And that ended up not-so-much as my simply answering whether I liked yaoi or not, and became a ramble about fandom in general. XD Oh dear.
BUT. MY FAVOURITE COLOUR IS BLUE. I CAN SAY THAT DEFINITELY.

Date: 2006-08-15 02:08 am (UTC)From:7) I personally started out in a couple of really yaoi-dominant fandoms, where all the interesting pairings and fic were the yaoi ones, so I haven't quite shaken that, but I've started to be involved in more fandoms where the het is actually the better stuff, and the female characters kick ass, so I'm beginging to find a happy balance. I _am_ all about the justification, too - one well-written fic can change my whole point of view on a pairing. And yeah, hating on other ships because they get in the way of your prefered one is always dumb - and the KH fans need to learn that Kairi/Riku/Sora = OT3, and practically canon at that. I tend to treat incest stuff much the same as most other pairings - ship a few (Dante/Vergil = fucked up demonic twincest love), but that's about it. And long answers are good, because yay discussion XD;
And apparently I am psychic or something.
