It is too hot in my bedroom to sleep. Or, well, probably more accurately, too humid. Everything feels sticky, and I'm sweating just sitting here. It doesn't help that my room is one of the warmest in the house, and Ben stole the portable fan, so I just have a total piece of shit ceiling fan, which does almost nothing.

My strategy at the moment is to do more or less what my mom did. She grabbed the mattress out of the guest room (my old bedroom, one of the coolest on the second floor), and is sleeping on the floor of the sewing room, which has a big ceiling fan and about eight windows. I've just hauled my mattress into the guest bedroom, and am hoping that the temperature difference is enough that I can actually fall asleep.

New England weather sucks so much.

New England weather sucks? Try weather here in general right now, the actual temp (not heat index) flew past 101 here yesterday and it's going to be equally hot today. Stuff like this makes me nervous about how i'll survive summer down south.

Yeah, but does it get to -20 F in the winter? New England gets up into both ends of the extremes - it's been over 90 during the day, and I think our thermometer may be in the shade most of the time.

I doubt it normally gets to -20F in the winter, but it does go below 0 often. Most of my mom's family is from MA and they are always trying to make us jealous with how nice every season but winter is up there! In the Mid-Atlanyic region every season is pretty extreme because it's so damn humid and windy. It's only really "nice" about 2 months a year. And that's one reason i'm looking forward to living in the south, I haaattteee snow.

I'll tell you though, the one place I would not want to live is MN, where my best friend is from. They go above 100 in summer and easily below -30 in winter. I've have to kill myself. *L*

They lie XD; I love New England as a place but damn, do I hate the weather. Western NC has some of the nicest weather - not much snow in the winter, but because of the elevation, the summers don't get so hot either. Vancouver'll be nice, too, although they get a little more into the extremes

Ugh, that sounds awful. I also wouldn't want to be where Jo's going this fall - their winters go down to about -40.

Oh and on the subject of New England, have you ever been to someplace called Northampton? Because like every one of my relatives has told me I would love it there but i've never been. And um, I was wondering if it was actually worth going to from someone unbiased.

I haven't either, actually.

*pat pat* It's a good think you don't leave further down south.

Ergh. It's been around 120 here consistently all summer, but at least it's dry. Humidity is the worst.

Yeah, humidity bites during the summer. Although today isn't so bad - the storm last night cooled things down.
