I'm starting to think I should keep extra clothes around in different sizes, just in case. This is getting annoying.
[Bit of a pause, then the following is added]
Rain-san, are you free?

[Pause]
And bring a big kimono or something? I can pay you back, I just don't want to go out looking like this.
[read: looking half-naked because he now has BUFF SHOULDERS]

How big?
no subject
Thank you.
quicklog
[Thankful that he'd finally recovered from whatever that illness had been and no longer needed to worry about possibly passing it on, Rain detoured to the Bazaar first and purchased a deep blue kimono that would have been a couple sizes too big for him. He then made his way to Daitou's home and knocked on the door.]
quicklog
Rain-san. Come in.
[And the awkward, slightly shaken smile is still there because god does he sound different - and he sounds like the voice in his dream. The one telling him not to give up.]
quicklog
[Rain still bowed, then handed him the kimono as he stepped inside, finally finding his voice.] I see why you asked me to come.
quicklog
I woke up like this, this morning. It's strange, having someone else's body.
Re: quicklog
It is. [He knew perfectly well how strange it could be - he'd had his sister's body some time ago, after all. At least Daitou's transformation didn't seem to be as... upsetting as that had been. But then, it was quite possible that Daitou had no idea just whose body this was.]
...You find it familiar though, correct?
no subject
The face looks familiar, though I can't place it. I heard this voice in my dream, though.
no subject
It's the vice commander's body. [Might as well cut to the chase. Rain said nothing further just yet, letting Daitou take that in. After all, the vice commander was someone very important to him, unless their memories were seriously misleading them.]
no subject
I see.
[His voice was soft, the earlier cheer gone.]
no subject
[...All right, scratch his earlier thought. It was upsetting, at least if the man's body language was any indication. Rain exhaled slowly. What now? He wasn't exactly cut out for offering comfort or reassurance, and he knew it, but this silence that was beginning to stretch out as they stood there was an uncomfortable one.]
...Is the kimono acceptable?
no subject
It is. Thank you.
[His expression falls a little, and he sighs.]
This place... can be very cruel.
no subject
It happened roughly six months ago. Most people found themselves in other bodies for approximately a week.
[He paused, opening his eyes and once again looking at Daitou.]
Is there anything else you need?
no subject
I see. And not really - I thought you might know who I looked like, you remember more of our home.
[A pause as he weighed the potential of this next indiscretion. He trusted Rain, but he doesn't know how far the man is willing to go. Finally he spoke again, voice a little harsher this time]
This, what the Tree does - it isn't right.
no subject
It isn't. We're given little choice but to deal with it to the best of our abilities.
[That was a fact of life here, and it was frustrating, certainly - sometimes infuriating - but Rain usually hid his displeasure well. Raging about it could draw unwanted attention, after all.]

no subject
...I wouldn't speak of it so openly.
[That was a potentially dangerous topic, and while he found himself willing to discuss it with Daitou to some extent, it needed to be in a safer location. The Wilderness or the Scavenger's Yard; certainly not in the branches of the Tree. He motioned to the door with a slight tilt of his head, hoping the other man would catch on.]
no subject
Well, it's nice enough weather for a walk, ne?
no subject
[They reached the elevator, and he asked before selecting which button to push.] Do you know what state the Wilderness is currently in?
no subject
No - it's been changing so fast, and I haven't had time to talk to any of the adventurers or anything...
no subject
[The elevator doors closed behind them, and Rain pushed the button for the fifth floor. As the doors opened into the Yard a minute later, he stepped out and took a quick look around. He'd only been to this floor once or twice in all his time in Edensphere, as he typically didn't have any particular reason to come here. There were a few people milling about, and Rain began to navigate his way through the debris in search of a more secluded area for them to talk.]

As I understand it, this is the safest place to discuss things. [He sat down on what may have been part of a refrigerator and waited quietly for the other man to speak. Whether Daitou had something specific he wanted to discuss, or he just wanted to vent, Rain was willing to hear him out.]
