I got a rather unfortunate start to the day when I slipped down my front stairs and spilled my remaing two-thirds of a cup of tea all over myself. As as result, I'm slightly sore, have sticky spots on my coat, and didn't get to have my cup of tea. Argh.
Anyway, before I forget, playing as Vergil is fucking sweet. I think some of it is the combination of DT and Beowulf (my favorite acquired weapon, pretty much) from the start - I'm up to mission 11. Playing Dante on Easy is also kind of fun, if only because it really is ridiculously easy. I've been refering to it as 'Super n00b mode' And Blood Palace is actually a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. Mmm, melee. Also, I thought of the most beautifully wrong crossever the other night - DMC/Buffy. And it's sad, because it would actually work.
Also, with SE out, here's a repost of one of the tracks from my personal DMC3 playlist (because I can't stand the actual background music). Noise rock, with the most awesome bass line ever.

i am currently plugging away at DMD mode with Corrupt Vergil *radiates Nelo Angelo DT LOVE*
...although i'm thinking that i might go back and beat Very Hard to get Super Vergil for DMD after all...

if it's not after the fact, here are a few hints for the second Vergil battle (playing as Vergil instead of Dante), if you want them (at least, this is what worked for me): i recommend using Force Edge to stinger to him as SOON as he finishes combos (or you can Killer Bee, but if he goes into an attack, this winds up missing half the time), then switch to Beowulf immediately and spin kick him to high heaven. as soon as he guards, jump and then Trick Up, or roll to evade, then stinger back and repeat. ^^ got me through it on the first try that way... oh, and anytime you aren't attacking, phantom-sword his (your?!) ass. heh. but as always, beware of his Devil Trigger... either DT yourself, or hang back and phantom sword until he breaks out of it.

Date: 2006-02-01 02:37 am (UTC)From:I'll try using Stinger - been using Killer Bee, and you're right, it does miss half the time. I usually just hang back during his DT - I can't avoid all the combos and some of them deal a hell of a lot of damage.
I think with that and my newly updated playlist, it's time to go give brother dearest another try >.>
