Success

Yo, Maddie! This will probably help you in deciphering that sword-crack. Now, if only I could find character sketches or something for the movie art. Would totally kill for those right now.

On an entirely unrelated note, apparently my Shakespeare proffessor now associates me with Horatio. My work here is done XD

I think 'special' may be a bit of an understatement, here XD

Cloud is very special. XD

Sephiroth too, but I think Cloud is more special XD

Yeah... it's a close call, but Cloud edges him out only because the Masamune isn't a 500 lb metal puzzle.

And he wears half a skirt.

Well, Sephiroth had decided that he is above shirts, and I'm not sure exactly how he maneuvers the Masamune around, that thing is like seven feet long. Guess I get to find out at AB.

I think the jigsaw puzzle bit does hand the win to Cloud, though XD

Way above shirts. I'd love to know if the leather chafes Sephiroth's nipples. He's gotta get cold wearing that, and I'm assuming the overcoat isn't satin-lined... or maybe it is?

Cloud's sword is pure crack. He must be He-Man.

And how the hell does the Masamune stand up to that thing? You've gotta fight a Cloud and tell me how well your sword stands up.

Well, it's probably lined with _something_. Otherwise you get all sorts of seams showing. Ironically, mine _will_ be lined in satin XD (but not shiny satin. Nice, matte satin).

I'm starting to suspect ShinRa branched out into textiles at some point, actually. Because the way those sleeves fit is not the way leather works. They look practically sprayed on. And the Turks have indestructible suits. XD

I think that will largely depend on what Maddie and I end up making ths swords out of XD I'm edging towards wood or fiberglass for mine.

Maybe it's latex? It's all pretty flappy for leather, and they all move pretty easily when wearing it. Hmm... *ponders* Yeah, the Turks' suits are something else, though, geez. They MAGIC.

ShinRa textiles...

Rufus: "I'm wearing our new line of kulats."

My brother's got a wooden Buster Sword. That thing's heavy. Fiberglass, though...

It's got too much texture for latex, so I've given up trying to figure out what the hell is going on there and just bought some nice leather-look PVC that's thin enough to drape well.

Fiberglass can be really light and look awesome if you know how to do it well - this guy's (http://fantasyprops.com) work is really good. I have no experience with fiberglass, though, which is why I may use wood for the Masamune if I can figure out someway to keep it from snapping. It's thin enough that it wouldn't be too heavy.

I figure if I can carry this thing (http://www.tokyo-tower.org/gallery/Anime-Boston-2004/AB04_020), which is all wood, around with no trouble other than accidently whacking it on things, I should be good XD
