(No cuts, because 1) it's my goddamn journal and 2) it is good literature and you all should read it - from the 'when you see this entry post a poem' and 'when you see this entry post Shakespeare' memes)

The Dreamkeeper

Bring me all your dreams,
You dreamers,
Bring me all your
Heart melodies
That I may wrap them
In a blue cloud-cloth
Away from the too-rough fingers
Of the world.
-Langston Hughes

(I've always loved this poem, which is why my still-current Yuna wallpaper has it on it)

HAMLET

Heaven make thee free of it! I follow thee.
I am dead, Horatio. Wretched queen, adieu!
You that look pale and tremble at this chance,
That are but mutes or audience to this act,
Had I but time–as this fell sergeant, death,
Is strict in his arrest–O, I could tell you–
But let it be. Horatio, I am dead;
Thou livest; report me and my cause aright
To the unsatisfied.

HORATIO

Never believe it:
I am more an antique Roman than a Dane:
Here's yet some liquor left.

HAMLET

As thou'rt a man,
Give me the cup: let go; by heaven, I'll have't.
O good Horatio, what a wounded name,
Things standing thus unknown, shall live behind me!
If thou didst ever hold me in thy heart
Absent thee from felicity awhile,
And in this harsh world draw thy breath in pain,
To tell my story.

March afar off, and shot within

What warlike noise is this?

OSRIC

Young Fortinbras, with conquest come from Poland,
To the ambassadors of England gives
This warlike volley.

HAMLET

O, I die, Horatio;
The potent poison quite o'er-crows my spirit:
I cannot live to hear the news from England;
But I do prophesy the election lights
On Fortinbras: he has my dying voice;
So tell him, with the occurrents, more and less,
Which have solicited. The rest is silence.

Dies

HORATIO

Now cracks a noble heart. Good night sweet prince:
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!
Why does the drum come hither?

(For those who doen't know it, Hamlet/Horation OTP YAAAAAY. This is Act V, Scene 2 of Hamlet, at the very end - I love Horatio here so much <3)

homg. As soon as I began to read this, I felt the urge to post a comment with 'Hamlet + Horatio = OTP, wut!'... but I see you've already been enlightened. Hamlet has to be Shakesphere’s finest Tragedy; enriched with the finest soliloquies and also containing some of his most fluent and artful language. (Although, admittedly, Mercutio's Queen Mab speech is a favourite.) Hamlet was also amazing for the interplay of the three different religious interpretations of the Ghost of King Hamlet. To the one, it signified madness. To another, divinity. And to Hamlet himself, the struggle between whether to believe his father's spirit a devil in disguise, or an angel sent to guide his cause.

...Oh, Hamlet is the Love. I’m so jealous that you’re studying it right now. (<- Misses English Literature courses something good.)

Yeah, Hamlet is a lot of love - out of all the plays of Shakespeare I've seen or read, it has to be my favorite, hands-down. And I have this stupidly huge love for Horatio, too XD

That's because Horatio is awesomeness incarnated, in velvet clothes with a sowrd... which somehow serve to make him even more Danish-Badass.
