What Makes You Feel Loved?

Just a thought I've been pondering...different people have different ways of expressing/recognizing affection. I'm curious as to what fits those standards for other people.

Me, I'm simple, I guess. In no particular order: initiating a conversation with me, finding my stupid little stories interesting, trusting me, little gifts to show you thought of me, remembering things about me and what I like, writing me letters, especially (although a phonecall or e-mail is almost as nice), actually carrying through something you promised to do for me.

Cocoa, I think you just listed the things that makes me feel loved. XD That's really neat. ^_^; One thing that also makes me feel loved though: when a person says that they'll be there for you and they do.

most of what you said is the same for me as well, however I also feel loved as if I can trust those who I consider my friends to be there for me when I need to be reminded that I am loved ^^

Very much the same. When a person is nearby I also like hugs and handholdings and (if it's a person I really trust and love alot) being picked up bodily and carried off to places unknown. ^^

Since you listed a great deal of ways I find I'm loved, I'll mention other things. Like random hugs or affectionate touches - though I automatically shy away from most physical affection when it's light and true, it makes me smile. Then there is asking how I am - that just brightens my day - and sometimes just sitting around and feeling absolutely great despite the lack of talking.

Sometimes simple is the very best.

Similar things, largely. I like knowing that people think of me, especially if it's even when I'm not around, and when someone takes the time to do something like write me a letter it makes me very happy. I like cuddling, but I only like people remembering things about me and what I like to a certain point (*has a number people who probably keep a notebook to record all my favorite things and stories, which doesn't make me feel loved, it makes me worry XD*). And I really like subtle, nonintentional little reminders that I'm loved. And... I like being made fun of XD; .... um.... XD;;;

Note that in my case, the difference is between an online or IRL relationship - when you don't get to see a person on a daily/weekly basis in the flesh, it means so much to get a little reminder that they're thinking of you. IRL I'm happy just to goof around with people, it's not so important to talk or whatever cos they're right there.

I also still tend to be shy, so either I'll not say or do anything much or I'll suddenly run/GLOMP/squee...if you see what I mean.
