For the Cosplayers on my F-list

Make-up: how do you get good at it? Just practice? Or is there some sort of great secret I should know? Because I like to think my sewing skills are pretty good, but my inability to style hair or apply make-up makes most of the photos look varying amounts of 'average' to 'fail'.

Yeah, cosplay is weird in that you don't have as much of the distance/lighting problems you have in stage make-up, but at the same time, you're usually going for much more dramatic effects than everyday make-up.

Titles would be awesome! I have access to a good network of libraries out here, so I can use the almighty library card for the power of awesome.
