Something cracked inside her, and she had to turn to look out over the gardens, swallowing hard and pretending to clean her glasses. Even after a few long moments, her voice was still rough. "I'll hold you to that. If you vanish on me, I'll hunt you down. I've read far too many detective stories to not know what to look for."
