Yeah, that was me, I think. I read the "Guns" community and then read the posts of the "Friends" of guns and that's where I see your posts. I'm a pistol instructor, but I'm also a SF fan, so I'm glad to help out where I can.
That holster doesn't look exactly like any real holster I know. The closest would be one of the Galco holsters, based on the connecting piece used in the back straps, but that's not exactly the same shape. The front strap that goes across the chest was typical on older shoulder holster designs, but isn't really seen that much anymore. I don't think any of the current Galco's have that front strap. I could be wrong though as they make more than one variety of holster.
My reccomendation is to go to the Galco website, find the phone number, and order a Galco catalog. I think that would be about $5. Sometimes you can get them for free at a gunshop or range. The catalog has alot of great pics you can study to see how the holster is put together and make your own version. You could either do the whole thing from scratch, if you have any decent leather working skills, or modify bits of existing components, like the mag pouches and straps, etc, to work. Having the catalog with the pictures and diagrams of how the shoulder rig is put togehter would help either way though.
Personally, I'd look for a used shoulder rig, either a Galco or something similiar, to start with. Hunt around on e-bay and some of the on-line classifies. Check out www.sportsmansguide.com and www.cheaperthandirt.com for similiar holsters that are less expensive as well.
Since your character is based on a game, and not the more detailed movie or anime, I think anything you do that looks good on it's own (well put together, etc) that is remotely close will look good enough to pass.
