[He breathes a sigh against Souji's shoulder, but it is a sigh of relief rather than annoyance at being interrupted.

Turning his head to look at the vial the other man was holding, he frowned.]

What is that...?

I think... it may be the same as the rainbow hourglasses some people were given last fall, that made them dream. The note says 'Give this to the one you trust.'

[Tian tenses up slightly at that, moving off Souji to take a closer look.]

...why would they give you something like this, instead of forcing it upon you?

It seems as if... we've been given a choice. You are the one I trust most, but if you'd rather not risk it, I can give it to Rain, instead.

Hm.

[He studies the vial and then looks back at Souji.]

What exactly happened, last time?

When the sand in the hourglass ran out, they slept for a day, and... dreamed. I'm not sure what of, though.

I see. And what are your plans? Shall I use it or do you wish me to watch over your while you sleep?

[He looks thoughtful for a moment, hands going to fidget with the now-cooling cup of tea before answering]

I think... I'm not sure if it would work if I just keep it. As it says to give away.

Hm. Risky.

[He watches the vial again.]

...I will use it, if you wish me to. It might give us some information.

[Souji bows his head slightly]

I... think it probably will. And I will guard you, whatever happens.

I will put my life in your hands.

[He still looks quite thoughtful, moving the vial between his fingers.]

When?

When you feel you are ready - taking time off from work shouldn't be a problem for me.

I do not have any shifts tomorrow, if you wish to have this done quickly.

[A small, crisp nod]

That may be for the best.

Show me your bedroom. I will use the vial.

[Considering they just had a fight, he's showing you a lot of trust, Mr. Samurai.]

[Souji tries not too grin to widely at that - both because he's relieved and because... lol, Section 1 housing]

You're in it. The bed is over there, though. [He points at the neatly arranged futon up against one wall]

[He stands up to allow Souji to fix the bed for him.]

[Which Souji does - not that there's much to fix up.]

I'm sorry - I know it's not what you're used to.

It is adequate for the situation.

[He walks over to the bed and then sits down on the futon, removing his belt with his sword. Shrugging off the top of his robe, he then lies down.]

[Souji takes the sword-belt, and leans it up against the wall by the head of the bed - within easy reach.]

Am I to ingest this thing or simply pour it on myself?

[He eyes the vial again, suspiciously]

I think - pour. Nobody tried to eat it last time, as far as I know, and it still did things.

Very well. You are not to leave my side under any circumstances.

[Opening the vial, he pours the rainbow sand over himself.]

[Souji is suddenly very glad he didn't finish all that tea, though the small sandstorm that springs up in his room is enough distraction. When it clears, Tian is peacefully asleep inside a clear bubble - one that doesn't seem to budge much when Souji pokes it.

He grabs one of the floor cushions and pulls it over by the futon, and then settles in to wait.]

[A whole day passes, and then the glass cocoon breaks into normal, boring tan sand, waking the dragon up. His ears flick slightly and he sits up with a frown on his face.]

Hm.
