Hmm, if you decide to go to AX, but want to save money by skipping the hotel, you should talk to me, as that's totally my area of the country. I won't actually be in California this summer, but I could probably find you a nearby apartment to crash in, assuming you wouldn't find staying with a friend of mine that you've never met to be weird or creepy.
