Look, if you're going to look for her in the Wilderness, you'll need somebody to come with you so you don't get lost too. If you don't have anybody to go with you, then I can. Besides, four eyes are better than two.

Date: 2010-11-10 07:49 pm (UTC)From:He didn't end up sleeping, and instead spent the bulk of the night idly drawing in his sketchbook and prodding at his experiments half-heartedly. It struck him as a relief that the sun came up as early as it did, and he set out on his search right away, attempting to ignore the lingering fear at the bottom of his gut that Thalassa was just gone. That wasn't right. She was just a kid. And not even one of those super-kids who swung swords around as if they had the strength of a 300 pound man, or could run at the speed of light, but a regular kid who liked magic tricks.
Sniper had ended up scouring most of the City Without Walls by the time early evening rolled by, and his voice was hoarse from shouting during his fruitless search. But if he felt this awful, he figured that her brother must feel even worse. With that in mind, he carefully straightened his back and strode into the candy store, only to see a... boy? Was that a boy? Whatever, it didn't really matter.]
Hey. Uh--are you Daitou?

Date: 2010-11-11 02:13 am (UTC)From:I searched nearly everywhere for Thalassa, but I couldn't find her. If she's anywhere right now, it's gotta be the Wilderness. [He glanced down at the papers Daitou was tallying up, and reflexively brought his hands away from the counter in favour of stuffing them back into his pockets.] I'll let you finish up your paperwork first.
no subject
Date: 2010-11-11 07:54 am (UTC)From:[True to his word, the paperwork was done quickly - handwriting a little messy, but calculations correct. Once that was put away, he grabbed the things he had brought with him and left below the counter that morning - a haori, for the cooling fall weather, and his sword.]

Date: 2010-11-12 12:43 am (UTC)From:So, Daitou... you're one of Thalassa's brothers, huh?
no subject
Date: 2010-11-12 01:12 am (UTC)From:Mmhmm. Crow-san is our older brother - he keeps to himself a lot though.

Date: 2010-11-12 02:57 am (UTC)From:Which is why you didn't wanna bother him by asking to go down there with you, huh?
[He sucked on his cheek pensively, staring down the path to where the elevator awaited them.]
I took Thalassa fishing a couple of times, so I thought she might be at the lake. I asked Krile - she can talk to animals - to ask Bernard if she saw Thalassa, and she didn't. So that's one worry down.
[His logical conclusion prior to Krile speaking with the giant squid was that Thalassa had decided to go to the lake by herself and slipped on the wet dock and drowned. It certainly didn't seem unlikely. Kids died like that all the time, snd it was a huge relief knowing that Thalassa wasn't dead somewhere in such an awful manner.]

Date: 2010-11-12 03:07 am (UTC)From:He wasn't at the house this morning, either. Probably at the dojo.
[There was a small blink of surprise at this new information about Krile]
Really? I guess people here have all sorts of strange powers...

Date: 2010-11-12 04:46 am (UTC)From:[He reached out and pushed the button to summon the elevator.]

Date: 2010-11-13 12:31 am (UTC)From:Maybe she's trapped in the elevator, [he suggested.] You've heard about people getting stuck there before, right?
no subject
Date: 2010-11-13 07:18 am (UTC)From:Crow-san mentioned it to me - though it seems like people leave a message when that happens? [He could recall at least one such entry he'd seen on the journals, anyway]

Date: 2010-11-13 07:46 pm (UTC)From:[He blanched at that.] But I wish they would.
[When the elevator doors slid open, Sniper stepped out warily, the massive space greeting them taking him by surprise. He looked a bit forlorn as he stared around only to see an expanse on both sides of them.
How the hell were they supposed to find a kid in this mess?]

Date: 2010-11-15 06:17 am (UTC)From:I guess we should just pick a direction to start in, ne?
no subject
Date: 2010-11-17 09:12 pm (UTC)From:Let's just start this way, then. Sometimes the mannequins can be helpful, so we can ask if they've seen a little girl and... oh wait, I know. Wait a second.
[Sniper dug through his cluttered back before triumphantly producing a rather worn sketchbook. He flipped his way through it until he found his sketch of Thalassa holding a fishing pole, newborn shoes muddy and cheeks rosy.]
We can show people this, [he said.] It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.
no subject
Date: 2010-11-19 06:07 am (UTC)From:That's a really good drawing, Sniper-san! They'll recognize her from it for sure.
no subject
Date: 2010-11-19 10:03 pm (UTC)From:O-of course! [He declared, waving one finger in the air.] I'm Sniper, the Great Artist. So that means that if she's here, we'll definitely find her. Come on, let's go!
[And with that, he trucked off to the right, keen eyes darting to and fro as he took in the the fascinating merchandise at the same time as he was searching for Thalassa.]

Date: 2010-11-20 07:55 am (UTC)From:As he walked, he glanced around him. This place seemed more foreign than the other two Wildernesses he'd visited.]
I wonder what this place is....

Date: 2010-11-23 07:56 am (UTC)From:Though I'm pretty sure it's not like this place. Or the playground. [The camp had seemed marginally more familiar, but not...'home'.]

Date: 2010-11-23 05:11 pm (UTC)From:He probably shouldn't tell anybody other than Chivalry he was a pirate, he figured. Somebody out there would probably want to hang him.]
Not many people here have seen their homes here, [he said, picking up a cowboy hat from one of the stalls and placing it on his head. It looked ridiculous.] And... well, I'm pretty sure that this place isn't like anybody's home.
