Actually, remember when they broke up, after "Adios"?
MDFMK was formed then of Sascha, Tim Skold (who you may remember from his vocal on the song "Anarchy"), and Lucia Cifareli (not sure where you might remember her for, and honestly I don't care for her).
I guess it just comes down to Sascha trying to distinguish that work from the proper KMFDM catalog, since it doesn't really follow their strict but effective formula.
