Note that in my case, the difference is between an online or IRL relationship - when you don't get to see a person on a daily/weekly basis in the flesh, it means so much to get a little reminder that they're thinking of you. IRL I'm happy just to goof around with people, it's not so important to talk or whatever cos they're right there.

I also still tend to be shy, so either I'll not say or do anything much or I'll suddenly run/GLOMP/squee...if you see what I mean.
